Curtis O’Nyon has a deep understanding of Canada’s political arena—spanning municipal to federal jurisdictions. His in-the-trenches experience and 20+ years in the Ottawa political environment have made him a sought-after advisor and strategist by business, non-profit and political organizations alike. Over the years, he has built and fostered relationships with government staffers, politicians and the corporate sector both in Ottawa and across Canada.
Curtis has proven experience managing the relationships and corporate goals of multi-level partners across the country. His clients count on him to develop and implement strategic advocacy plans and to provide comprehensive public and government relations’ advice. Curtis has a proven record of being able to build bridges between industry associations, the corporate sector, non-profits and government.
He has a strong connection to the municipal sector built upon his many years with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and he fully understands the dynamics behind the relationship that exists between the three orders of government. His time as manager of the Big City Mayor’s Caucus and the FCM Board of Directors enabled Curtis to build an extensive network of municipal contacts across the country and become a known advocate for the municipal sector to the federal government. He was part of the team that delivered the federal Gas Tax Return and GST Rebate to municipalities and he has advised successive Liberal leaders on cities and communities issues
Curtis holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications, both from Carleton University. Curtis is a member of the Boxing Canada Board of Directors and is a volunteer member of the government relations committee at Music Canada Live.
